Good morning, everyone!
I’m here with some news from Nintendo that you may have already heard about.
I’m excited for it, but I don’t know about other people…
Last week, Nintendo posted on their Nintendo News blog about a new Paper Mario game: Color Splash.
The post isn’t too informative as it’s only one paragraph long. It’s basically states what you now know already: a new game is coming to the Wii U. Yes, it’s another Paper Mario game.
Paper Mario is one of my favorite video games ever. When I say Paper Mario, I mean the original Paper Mario that came out on the Nintendo 64. That game could do no wrong for me.
Then Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door came out for the Gamecube. That game was very similar to the first one. The first one is still my favorite, but I loved the second game as well.
Then there was Super Paper Mario for the Wii and I was a tad disappointed in that one. While it was still similar to the other two games, it just didn’t seem as good as the others. I missed the variety in his partners, though it was cool to play as different characters other than Mario and occasionally Peach.
Then… Paper Mario: Sticker Star came out for the 3DS. I’m sure I don’t need to explain that I was disappointed in this one. I think most people were.
Now there’s Mario & Luigi Paper Jam, which is a cross over between Paper Mario and the Mario & Luigi series. I haven’t played the game yet and I haven’t played any of the Mario & Luigi games, so I can’t really say whether this game was any good or not. I want to give it a shot, though it looks kind of weird, in my opinion.
Do you see the descending trend in the Paper Mario games? While I still enjoy the Paper Mario series, each game gets a little more disappointing. If we follow this trend, how is Color Splash going to fit on the scale?
If you read the comments on the Nintendo News page it’s a mixture of excitement and slight anger that it might be a “sequel” to Sticker Star.
Color Splash doesn’t have a release date as of yet, though they did mention it would be out later this year.
In the meantime I think I’ll play through the other games (including Paper Jam) and review them on here. I think it’ll prepare me for Color Splash.
What do you think of the announcement of Paper Mario: Color Splash? Are you excited for it or no?
