Top Tuesday: Kanto Pokemon

Rachel Mii Double JumpHappy Tuesday!

As many of you know, I’ve been doing a playthrough of the Pokemon games in order by the regions.

Since I played Pokemon Blue this month, I thought I would share my favorite Kanto Pokemon.

5. Gengar

Gengar is cool. All of his evolutions are. I also think Gengar is pretty cute. Creepy, but I’m sure if you get to know him, he’s pretty cute.

4. Eevee

Tell me who doesn’t love Eevee.

3. Oddish

When I was younger, I had a fascination with Oddish. I don’t really know why, but Oddish is adorable. So that’s good enough reason.

2. Psyduck

People don’t give Psyduck nearly enough credit.

1. Charmander

Fire is my favorite type so Charmander is always my go-to guy. He’s adorable, powerful, and I just can’t get enough of him.

What are you favorite Pokemon from the Kanto region?

  1. Excellent picks! I agree with your #1 Pokemon, only slightly differently. Here are my top 5!

    5. Pikachu – I love the mascot. I’ll admit it. He’s always been cute to me, both his chubby and skinnier forms. Since I was little, I’ve been amassing Pikachu plushies and probably have dozens by now! It doesn’t help that Pokemon Center.com keeps releasing Pikachu wearing adorable cosplays!

    4. Mew – I love how mysterious this Pokemon was, and how nobody knew how to get it (until lately). There were so many rumors at the playground on how to obtain this special Pokemon. Eventually, Nintendo released these and some other kids learned how to use Gameshark and clone Mews. Regardless, I will always treasure the Mew I got officially at a Pokemon event!

    3. Starmie – This is one of my favorite Pokemon to use in competitive play. It learns so many useful moves and is consistently strong in every generation. It’s so elegant too!

    2. Mewtwo – He was the coolest. He had his own movie, and was plain unbeatable in both the anime and the game. I remember most childhood matches being Mewtwo vs. Mewtwo.

    1. Charizard – Specifically shiny black Charizard, but regular Charizard is a classic too. Nothing like a red fire dragon starter, even though he wasn’t a dragon until his mega evolution in Gen VI. He’s a favorite, and I might have several plushies of this Pokemon alone.
