Bye, 2016!

Bye, 2016!

Well, look at that! A year has come and gone. We had started this blog back in February and look at how far we have come! Video games are one of our passions and we had just wanted to carve out a little nook of the Internet to share our favorite obsessions with anyone willing to listen to a pair of rambling, geeky sisters. Know that we continuously feel warm and fuzzy from the support that we have received this past year for our little blog!

Namely, Miketendo and Mr. Panda. You guys rock and we’re so happy that we’ve met you guys and have been able to share our love of video games with you! Yes, 2016 has been quite the busy year and it’s amazing how far this blog has come in just a short amount of time.

Nintendobound and Seb’s Gaming World are also a couple of awesome blogs and bloggers out there that we discovered with the help of our little Double Jump. There are definitely plenty of more out there, and I wish we could just have a running list of shout-outs for this post!

Thank you to everyone who has made Double Jump’s first year a success! Even though it hasn’t technically been a year yet… But anyway…

Eh, close enough, haha! We’ve been having a great time with this blog, and we hope that you all will continue to enjoy hanging around with us as we head into our second year. We’re hoping to have some new features and types of posts in the works for 2017!

Oh, yes! We have ideas and plenty of them! We can’t wait to share them all with you. 2017 is going to be a great year! 2016 was great year as well. What was your favorite post we did this year, Kris?

I enjoyed our Player One and Player Two syndrome posts, especially since we reference them every once in a while, haha! I was also excited about the step towards gender diversity that the Sims 4 took. One of my favorite game reviews that we did was Yoshi’s Woolly World. I love how hyped up on the adorableness we had been! What about you?

I think my favorite posts we did together was when we challenged each other play something we wouldn’t normally. You played Luigi’s Mansion and I played Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones. I also loved our movie review of Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva and our game review of Asagao Academy. Our discussion on old PC games was great, too! We covered a wide variety of topics this year and it was a lot of fun! I hope you guys enjoyed it as much as we did.

How did 2016 treat you? Do you have any goals in mind for 2017? Let us know in the comments!

  1. Thanks for the mention, girls, and keep up the great work you two do around here. I hadn’t caught those “Challenge Unlocked” posts, and I must say they are really entertaining!

2016 was an ok year for me. Nothing really special happened, but it was not a disaster either. Hopefully 2017 will be better.

  2. Aww thank you so much for the mention! You two have been doing an excellent job, and I hope you continue that spirit into the new year! 2016 was a big year for me, and as far as a gaming goes, it has been quite important. I don’t know that 2016 was the most influential year for great new games, but I got to enjoy a huge backlog of 3DS and PS4 games (mostly RPGs, which is why it’s taken forever). I look forward to 2017 hopefully being even better especially with the advent of the Switch! Happy New Year to both of you!
