Holiday Haul

Rachel Mii Double JumpHappy first Tuesday of 2017! I can’t believe another year has come and gone.

Last year, Kris and talked about what we hoped to get for Christmas and Santa did not disappoint.

All of the gifts I received were either book/writing related, video game related, or Harry Potter related. Is it safe to say that my friends and family know me a little too well?

pikachu-socksRemember I was excited to get Charmander socks from that video game raffle basket? Well, I got more socks! I don’t think I’ve ever had so many socks in my life.

I now have nifty ankle socks of Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, and Psyduck. They’re actually pretty comfortable!

I also got a book called Guy in Real Life by Steve Brezenoff which is based on a guy and girl and an MMORPG game. I’ve started reading it already and it’s pretty good!

I also got a couple of T-shirts. I got a Pikachu one, a PeanutButterGamer shirt, and a super cool Ace Attorney shirt. Two of the shirts were from The Yetee, very soft and comfy, and the other one was from the Pixel Empire, which was also pretty soft. I really like the fabric on them.

And, of course, I got some video games.

game-haulI got Pokemon Moon (I already have Pokemon Sun that I pre-ordered myself), Mario Party Star Rush, and Paper Mario Color Splash.

Kris got Pokemon Sun, Monster Hunter Generations, and Sonic Generations.

So, between the two of us we have a good haul of new games to play.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday with friends and family. I also hope you all had a great New Year. 2017 will be the year of games!

Did you get any new video games for Christmas? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. Those socks are so cute! What does the Ace Attorney shirt look like? It sounds awesome! I also got Paper Mario Color Splash from Christmas. I also got the following games on PS4: Final Fantasy XV (from my lovely wife), World of Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest Builders, and The Last Guardian. It’s very Square-Enix heavy, haha.

    • I love the socks! The Ace Attorney shirt is a picture of Phoenix and Miles together, but in half. Like, they’re one. It’s hard to explain, lol. Have you started playing Color Splash yet?
That’s good! We had yet to get a PS4, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy all those games.

      • Wow, so is it like Phoenix on one side, and Edgeworth completing the other half? That sounds pretty cool! I have a few AA shirts that have silhouettes of the characters doing their OBJECTION! pose. I haven’t yet started Color Splash since I’ve mostly been playing Final Fantasy XV. But I did beat FFXV, so I’m excited to move on to another game soon!

      • Yeah, exactly! It’s really cool! Your shirts sound cool, too.
I don’t know how I feel about Color Splash yet, but I can’t wait to hear your thoughts when you start it.

      • Mm, I’m wondering how I will feel too, since I loathed Paper Mario: Sticker Star. Seriously, I did not like the game at all. Hopefully, this will be better though! Hope you have a great time with your new games!

      • Spoiler alert, I personally think Color Splash is better than Sticker Star, but it’s not as good as the older games. But, oh well.
I vowed never to play Sticker Star again, but I kind of want to just because I forget it.

  2. Yeah if I buy myself some or my SO does xD I’m a student so… new games are rarely in my list xD Spoiler alert, I personally think Color Splash is better than Sticker Star, but it’s not as good as the older games.

    • New games are hard to come by, I agree. I work full time and I still can’t afford them sometimes, lol.
I’ve beaten Color Splash since this post came out and I totally agree. It’s not a great game, but it’s much better than Sticker Star.
