Currently Playing: Paper Mario Color Splash

Rachel Mii Double JumpHappy Thursday!

I got some great new games for Christmas and I’ve started playing all of them so far. One of them being the latest Paper Mario game, one of my favorite game series.

Paper Mario is one of my favorite game series. I absolutely loved the first game (and have played and beaten it multiple times) and the second game, The Thousand-Year Door is awesome, too.

The third game, Super Paper Mario, was good, even though it wasn’t as good as the first two. I wasn’t a fan of Sticker Star at all and have yet to play Paper Jam, even though that’s a crossover game and not 100% Paper Mario.

Each game has been going downhill a bit, so I was trying not to get my hopes up with Color Splash. Even seeing the trailers, I was skeptical because I knew it wasn’t going to be like the first two games.

However, I’ve been playing through the game bit by bit each day and it’s not as bad as I thought it would be. I have yet to touch Sticker Star again since I first got it and beat it (in only 20 hours, by the way), but I can see myself coming back to Color Splash and playing it again after I beat it for the first time.

The writing for the game is simply fabulous. It’s humorous and each of the characters are unique in their own way. And, a lot of them, have snarky, sarcastic attitudes. It’s entertaining, to say the least.

I love the gameplay, even though it’s different from the other games. And while I don’t like the battle mechanics, I can tolerate it.

I’ll be posting a review of this game in the near future, but I only have two of the six stars so far. One thing I noticed about this game is that it’s much longer than the other games in the series. But that’s not entirely a bad thing.

  1. I’m glad that you’re enjoying it more than you thought you would! I hated Sticker Star so much, but I’m open to trying Color Splash. I mean, I physically have the game now, I should give it a chance, haha. I look forward to your review of it in the near future!
