Luigi’s Mansion 3?

Rachel Mii Double JumpHappy Thursday!

There’s a lot of great games coming out for the Nintendo Switch, some games I hope to play to branch out a bit more than just constantly playing Mario or Zelda.

With that said, there’s still one game that I really hope to see on the Switch someday…

When Luigi’s Mansion came out in 2001 for the Nintendo Gamecube, I was beyond excited. I absolutely love Luigi and I was happy that he was finally getting some spotlight. The idea of the haunted mansion intrigued me as well since the Boo House levels in a typical Mario game are among my favorite.

It’s a quick game, one I always wished they had expanded upon because I enjoyed it so much. Then they finally came out with Luigi’s Mansion 2: Dark Moon in 2013 for the Nintendo 3DS. 12 years later!

Dark Moon was a fantastic game, one that I plan on re-playing in the near future. I don’t want to wait another 12 years for the next Luigi’s Mansion game, especially since it’s already been four years.

I would love for Nintendo to make a third Luigi’s Mansion game for the Nintendo Switch. I think a lot could be updated and added with the Switch’s new features.

And the graphics? The graphics would be amazing.

I know there were rumors of a Luigi’s Mansion 3 going around back when the Switch was only known as the “NX.” It was a rumor that it’d be a launch title and there’s no sign of a Luigi’s Mansion 3 anywhere.

Miyamoto and Aonuma mentioned a possible “Paper Zelda” game to go along with Paper Mario in the interview below. If that’s true, then Luigi’s Mansion 3 shouldn’t be so far-fetched… Right?

  1. I would love a new Luigi’s Mansion for Switch! I enjoyed the GameCube game when I got it at launch. Dark Moon was also good, but the mission structure that separated parts of each mansion wasn’t as fun. I preferred the first game’s single-mansion survival horror approach. Though I’d be fine with anything if they made a sequel!

    • I agree. The first game was definitely better, though I did really enjoy Dark Moon all the same. As long as they don’t make it like the Paper Mario series, I’ll take anything.

  2. I love luigi’s mansion! I would really like nintendo to flex their vr muscles and make luigi’s mansion vr compatible. Can you imagine all those whacky ghosts appearing around you and grabbing objects?

      • Hahaha it would be a little creepy! But a great concept nonetheless, ive had recent experiences with vr (which ill be posting about soon) so i cant wait to see what game developers do with the technology.

      • Hahaha thats a common misconception! I think the earlier models of vr had the issue of motion sickness but they’ve fixed that now so it’s not as jarring. I’m looking forward to posting, it’s been far too long.
