While everyone else is playing Breath of the Wild and 1-2 Switch, Rachel and I have been holding off on our self-pity by focusing on some other games that we need to catch up on. Myself, I’ve been tackling some of the older Fire Emblem games, marveling at the differences in mechanics that Blazing Sword and Shadow Dragon have compared to Awakening and Fates.
While Kris has been plugging away on her Fire Emblem games, I’ve been working on Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker while thinking about picking up Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon again. We’ve also been playing the latest Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney game, Spirit of Justice.
There’s also a game available on Steam called, “Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes.” Has anyone out there ever played it? Basically, it’s a team game where you’re all trying to defuse a bomb. One person has the bomb while the other person has a manual on how to defuse the bomb. Neither can look at the other’s screen while describing the settings of the bomb and the manual’s instructions on how to stop the bomb from exploding. It definitely seems like the kind of high-stakes, panic-in-the-streets game that will be fun for Rachel and me to try!
Aside from the Nintendo Switch and its games, that’s a game I really want. I’ve been looking for games I can buy that doesn’t require a brand new console… Of course, I’m still saving my money for the Switch.
If you don’t have the Switch, what have you been playing? Let us know in the comments below!
