So Kris and I were late to post on Saturday (because we’re brilliant and forgot) and it was after writing that post together that I realized something interesting. Something that makes Kris and I laugh.
It’s no secret that we still don’t have the Nintendo Switch. We keep constantly checking Amazon, GameStop, Toys R Us, Target, Wal-Mart, everywhere imaginable that would carry it, but we’ve yet to have any luck.
As we wrote our post Saturday I noticed that our blog has become a bit “whiny” due to lack of the latest console. I also realized that Saturday’s post was a bit more uplifting than usual.
Is everyone familiar with the five stages of grief? The stages are as follows:
Looking back on our blog posts and Twitter feed, we’ve gone through the stages of grief because we don’t have the latest Nintendo toy. Here’s proof:
We’re On The Hunt – The day after the Switch came out, we didn’t even try to write a blog post. We just stated we were too busy trying to find that console and that was that.
11 Things To Do When You Don’t Have The Nintendo Switch – Our post listing how to stay occupied without the latest console. Cry and wallow is self-pity are among that list.
Twiddling Our Thumbs – Our latest post when we discovered that we will get a Switch eventually. In the meantime, we’re going to enjoy the games we already have and just be patient.
And there you have it. A Nintendo console has had such a huge impact on us that we’ve mimicked the stages of grief. When I realized this, I mentioned the thought to Kris and the two of us cracked up.
This is what video games do to us.
Did you get your hands on the console yet? Let me know in the comments below!
