Character Spotlight: Tom Nook

Happy Tuesday!

September flew by, so here’s another character spotlight for you all.

Everyone knows Tom Nook. How can you not? If you play Animal Crossing, if you know anything about Nintendo, you know Tom Nook.

Tom Nook is a raccoon who appears in all the Animal Crossing games, first appearing in the original game for the Nintendo Gamecube back in 2001. He runs the local town shop and is also a real estate agent who gives you a house. You spend the rest of the game trying to pay off your mortgage to him.

In later games, he’s solely a real estate agent while his kids run the local shop. Where his wife is, no one knows.

Tom Nook can be a bit annoying. He’s not exactly sensitive to your monetary problems and he follows you around his shop as though he’s a lost puppy.

Still, you wouldn’t have a roof over your head if it wasn’t for him. Actually, you couldn’t really play the game if it wasn’t for him.

So, I guess we should all give Tom Nook a big thank you.
