Character Spotlight: Fox McCloud

Rachel Mii | DoubleJump.comHappy Thursday!

Today’s Character Spotlight is a character who I don’t know very well. I’ve been talking about him and his games a lot this month though so… here it is. I know, I’m pretty original when coming up with my post ideas.

All About Fox McCloud | Star Fox | DoublexJump.com

Fox McCloud made his first appearance in Star Fox for the Nintendo SNES in 1993. He last appeared in Star Fox Zero for the Nintendo Wii U in 2016 and Star Fox 2 on the Nintendo SNES Classic in 2017. Being the protagonist, he’s been a busy guy starring in every Star Fox game as well as spinoffs such as the Super Smash Brothers series.

Fox was one of those characters I never paid too much attention to. The Star Fox games never really caught my interest, except Star Fox Adventures, but still, I never beat that game.

I do think Fox is a great, unique character. I enjoy his design and his background as well as what he stands for. His games just never caught my eye as much. Still, he’s fantastic in Super Smash Brothers. I’m sure we’ll be seeing more games with him fairly soon.

Have you played most of Fox’s games? Is he a favorite of yours? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. Fox McCloud. I’ve had the liberty of using him in Star Fox 64 and Star Fox Command for the DS. As for Smash Bros. I liked fighting him. He’s a real challenge in that first game. But I could always beat him with Yoshi 😉. You have a good Thursday now 😂😂😂😂😂.

  2. I’ve played some of the Star Fox game but they aren’t necessarily favorites of mine. That said, I do love the look of Fox as a character.

  3. I’ve only played a couple of Star Fox games. I haven’t played him in Smash Bros. I do think he’s a character with an interesting story. I think there’s certainly more to him that can be explored in future games. But I don’t think the last few games have treated him with the reverence that Mario and Link have throughout the years. Still, he has promise to be another jewel in Nintendo’s crown.
