One of our favorite Disney movies to have come out in recent years is Wreck-It Ralph. Being centered on a video game antagonist and allowing us to dive into the world of video games was right up our alley when it came out. The characters and story were charming, and it was fun seeing cameos from some of our favorite video games, such as Bowser and Sonic.

You can’t go wrong with a Disney or Pixar movie and, as Kris said, Wreck-It Ralph was right up our alley. His arcade game with Fix-It Felix is a game I would love to play myself. I loved the creativity that was put into the movie to create video games that aren’t real but definitely could be.

The movie itself came out in 2012, over five years ago, but it doesn’t seem to have aged too badly. The sequel is coming out in November of this year, with the main characters discovering the Internet, and I’m looking forward to it. Considering how quickly technology advances, having the characters just begin to discover the Internet seems to be a little backward, but it should be amusing nonetheless. Not only that, I’m interested in seeing what other famous video game characters will cameo in it.

I didn’t even think of that. It is a little backward. It’ll be interesting though because they did such a cool job of showing us what goes on with the characters “inside” the game when it’s turned off and even “unplugged.” I can’t wait to see how they portray the inside of the Internet. I’m also looking forward to seeing the characters again. Ralph is a unique guy and all the characters, as diverse as they are, just seem like a great cast.

I can’t wait for more Sergeant Calhoun! She was my favorite! Considering we saw Bowser in the first movie, I would love to see other characters from the Mario franchise appear. Imagine Calhoun and Peach chatting! I’d love to see homages to the Fire Emblem and Pokemon series, as well. Considering the video games from the movie are all based on arcade towers, it’ll be really interesting to see what else the arcade owner will do to bring his business up to date with the times.

They’re in the internet though, so what kinds of games are on the internet? Remember Neopets? Club Penguin? I don’t think that’s a thing anymore, but it’d be cool if they explored those a bit. We saw in the trailer a couple of app games, so I’m sure they’ll do a lot with that as well.

Oh, God, Neopets! That would be hysterical! There is so much mischief and nonsense they can get up to with the Internet. Plenty of spoilers and images for other video games, games for consoles, app games as you mentioned… What if they found fanfiction and fanart? I doubt Disney will creep down those paths, but you never know. It was fun revisiting this movie, and it will definitely be interesting to see how much bigger the main characters’ world will be once they get connected to the Internet.

Them finding fanart would be hilarious. What I would love to see though is maybe they’d find they’re remaking their game. Then there’d be trouble! Wreck-It Ralph is a great movie and I’m looking forward to the sequel!

  1. I loved the original and I am desperately looking forward to the sequel. Disney usually goes for scripts that are adaptations, but Wreck-It Ralph shows they can pull off totally original concepts pretty well too.
