Double Jump Bakes Galaxy Cupcakes [Star Fox]

We entered the kitchen once more! Instead of making chicken nuggets like the children we are, we decided to bake galaxy cupcakes for playing Star Fox and Star Fox 2 on the SNES Classic.

The galaxy cupcake recipe we used was from Rosanna Pansino’s Nerdy Nummies Cookbook, the same book we used for our Pokemon sugar cookies that clearly came out awesome.

The galaxy cupcakes, after watching the YouTube video, seemed easy enough to bake. “Easy enough.”

We forgot to take pictures while we were baking, but we do have a picture of the final product and what it was supposed to look like.

The cupcakes were easy to bake, we’ve baked cupcakes before. They tasted good, which is a plus. The frosting came out well. We bought food coloring gel, which is different food coloring than what we usually use. However, we got funky colors: electric pink, electric blue, electric purple, and a couple others but those are what we used.

We dyed the frosting, placed each color into their own piping bag and put them in a bigger bag together to allow the colors to swirl when we squeezed them out.

It didn’t come out as well as we thought it would and the colors were lighter than we had originally planned as well. It looks more “unicorn” than “galaxy” but we’ll take what we can get. It still looks cool and they tasted great.
