October is starting off really well! Super Mario Party was a great game – I’m so happy Nintendo finally listened to us! Now another great game comes out tomorrow, the original Luigi’s Mansion.
Luigi’s Mansion has always been a favorite of mine. I loved the first game and the second game was great as well. I remember when Nintendo announced back in March 2018 a port of the original Luigi’s Mansion game from the Gamecube coming over to the Nintendo 3DS. I was excited, even though I remember saying to Kris, “I’ll take it but I was really hoping for Luigi’s Mansion 3.”
I’ve talked about how I played and replayed Luigi’s Mansion on the Gamecube. I’ve also talked about how my cousin got Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon on her 3DS and we were racing to beat the game while away on vacation. There’s about 10 years between us, her being younger of course. She enjoyed Dark Moon and I’ve always wanted her to play the original Luigi’s Mansion.
While our Gamecube games still work (I assume) and we could technically play on the Wii, all of our Gamecube controllers broke. It’s never been a priority either.
Now my cousin will finally be able to play the original and see what she missed out when she was younger! Of course, my other cousins used to bring their Gamecube up on vacation when the Gamecube was still hot and we used to watch them play Luigi’s Mansion out on the porch. So she knew of it even before Dark Moon came out.
Not only do I get to watch her experience how Luigi’s Mansion began, I also get to play with her in the co-op mode! I still think it’s weird that they have a full-green Luigi instead of Toad being brave enough to join him, but I’ll take what I can get.
