I Need More Paper Mario

Rachel Mii | DoubleJump.comHappy Thursday!

It’s been quite the weekend. Kris and I did a six-hour live stream showing off some of our favorite Nintendo Switch stream. We were totally dead afterward. It was a lot of fun though and I can’t wait to do it again sometime!

While it was fun to play some games we haven’t in a long time, it got me thinking about how we’ve been in sort of a “gaming slump” lately. Keeping up with game reviews this year have been tough. Which is weird since there are a ton of great games coming soon or recently came out. Still, Kris and I have been more interested in playing games we started and never finished. Or maybe we’ve played them over and over again but had an itch to play them yet again.

I don’t know why – though I’ll blame Jett – I’ve been having a craving for Paper Mario.

I wanted to replay the beloved game for a while now, but there are so many other games on my list that are new, so I’ve decided to do those first.

I have Paper Mario on the Nintendo Wii. It’s been quite a while since I’ve turned that console on so who knows how well it would even work (though it should work just fine). I could play The Thousand-Year Door on the Gamecube. It’s been way longer since I’ve played that one and I don’t remember it by heart like I do with the original Nintendo 64 Paper Mario.

I definitely want to play through the whole series again. Maybe I’ll do so on stream if I can get all the games to work. But I honestly want a new Paper Mario.

The last Paper Mario game we got was Color Splash for the Nintendo Wii U. I would love a brand new Paper Mario game for the Nintendo Switch. You know, one that’s like the original game and Thousand-Year Door. Granted, I was pleased with Color Splash, though it’s not my favorite.

Having a Paper Mario game on the Switch – whether they port the Nintendo 64 and Gamecube ones to the Switch or make a brand new one – would make me extremely happy. Actually, they can just do all of that. Port the first two games and give me a brand new Paper Mario similar to the first two games.

I don’t like be like, “I need this” or “I want this.”

But…

I need this. I want this. Please and thank you, Nintendo.

Are there any old games you’d love to see come to the Nintendo Switch? Let me know in the comments below! If you like this post, please share it around.

  1. I blame you for inspiring me to play Paper Mario in the first place! Ugh…now I’m stuck playing this amazing game on stream for probably another month! You ruined it for everyone lol

    • The Thousand Year Door was great! The original 64 game is my all-time favorite though. The gamecube game is just as fabulous. Then the series went a little downhill from there, lol.
