It’s the day after Christmas so I’m not doing anything but relaxing and playing any video games Santa got me.
For the final Character Spotlight of the year, I wanted to talk about Zelda. She’s been through a lot in 2017, so I think she deserves it.
Princess Zelda appeared in The Legend of Zelda for the NES in 1987 and most recently appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the Nintendo Switch in 2017. She’s been in an array of Legend of Zelda titles in between (of course, as the titles suggest) including spin-0ff games such as Hyrule Warriors and non-canon appearances such as the Super Smash Brothers series.
Zelda is one of my all-time favorite characters. Even though the games are mainly about Link (in a way) Zelda is more than a damsel in distress. She does what she can to protect Hyrule and rule her kingdom with an iron fist (against enemies, not her people).
When she’s able to fight, she really fights and it seems as though she always has a plan up her sleeve.
There are too many games in my radar at the moment, but I plan on playing the Champions’ Ballad DLC for Breath of the Wild soon. I’m looking forward to seeing more of Zelda in that.
