A few months ago, I posted a brief list of games releasing in the first quarter of 2026. Out of the four games, I only bought and played two of them. Considering how expensive games are and how busy I am, I’d say half is good. (Oh, and one of the games got delayed which is why I didn’t get it.)
Despite my addiction to Pokémon Pokopia, there are many more games to be played! In order of release date, here are the games I’m looking forward to in the second quarter of 2026, releasing April through June.
Vampire Crawlers
Releasing on April 21, 2026, Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors is coming to the Nintendo Switch. I don’t play a lot of card-based video games, but I thoroughly enjoy Vampire Survivors so I’m willing to give this a go. I think it’ll be more involved and strategic than Vampire Survivors is, but I’ve heard great things about the demo on Steam and look forward to trying something new but familiar!
Pokémon Champions
This title doesn’t have an official release date yet. All we know is that it comes out in April for the Nintendo Switch. Why not the Nintendo Switch 2? I have no idea, but I assume it’ll be compatible with the Switch 2 and that’s probably the console I’ll get it on. Pokémon Champions reminds me of Pokémon Stadium and I can’t wait to dive into hard-core battles with friends and online.
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream
This series has been way overdue for a sequel! I thoroughly enjoyed Tomodachi Life on the Nintendo 3DS and have always wanted an updated version. Now we’re getting a full sequel for the Nintendo Switch on April 16th and I couldn’t be more excited. I added characters from my novels and also the Ninja Turtles in my game on the 3DS. I can’t wait to recreate them and watch them all interact again in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream!
Coffee Talk Tokyo
Originally supposed to release on March 5, Coffee Talk Tokyo has been delayed until May 21st. That’s okay; I’ll wait. I wanted to replay the first two games in the series anyway. Now I have more time to do that. This next title in the series is set in a new cafe with new characters, but similar vibes. I can’t wait to head back to this cozy world.
Yoshi and the Mysterious Book
Also releasing on May 21st, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. Truthfully, I forgot about this game, and I’m still not quite sure how I feel about it. However, it’s Yoshi and it looks adorable regardless. I’m not sure if I’ll end up getting this game right away, but I’m looking forward to playing it at some point.
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales
This RPG releases for the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 18. A demo for The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales has been out and I haven’t tried it. I think I will before I go ahead and buy the game. This isn’t a priority game for me, but I do want to give it a try.
Do you plan on playing these games? What other upcoming releases are you looking forward to?
