New Discoveries

Now that the Switch is announced, Rachel and I have been taking a good look at our Wii U’s game library and… realized we didn’t have too much of a variety. We enjoy most of the games we have for the console, of course, but they don’t span too many franchises. Super Mario Bros. appears to be the clear winner, with the Zelda franchise behind it. Naturally, we decided to do a quick search to see what other games had been released for the Wii U that we may have missed.

I have a lot of Wii U games on my wishlist. I think I had planned on asking for them for my birthday and Christmas in an attempt to save money myself. Of course, new things come up and I asked for those instead ultimately forgetting about the other games. Now that I remember them, I want to go out and buy them all immediately.

It’s a shame our hobby is so expensive, isn’t it? Here we are trying to save up for the Switch and Breath of the Wild, then the Wii U shows off all these games that we hadn’t even thought of. I was surprised to discover a few games were on the Wii U in the first place, such as Batman: Arkham Origins. In my mind, that’s more of an XBox title.

Well, we had the first two Batman games for the XBox. I want the rest of the series on the XBox to keep it uniform. But I know what you mean. Every time we go to Gamestop we have a game or two in mind and I think we forget to browse sometimes.

That’s true. That, and our last couple of Gamestop visits were mostly for the legendary Pokemon codes and we tend to find puzzles or the like to buy instead of actual games. Still, perhaps we’ll have one last run to get Wii U games before the Switch arrives to take over our lives…

Now that we realized how many games we didn’t get, we’re definitely going on a shopping spree and buying all the Wii U games in existence.

I want to try to play a few of the Assassin’s Creed games, as well as Injustice and the Batman: Arkham series. Minecraft: Story Mode, developed by Telltale Series with the Minecraft developers, sounds interesting as well. Rodea the Sky Soldier was a game we saw a long time ago on Gamestop’s shelves and, while I’m not sure what the game is about, I remember it looked pretty!

Meanwhile, I would love to get Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Captain Toad Treasure Tacker, and Kirby and the Rainbow Curse. I’m sure there’s more. I can’t wait to go shopping!

  1. All these cool games. We need some let’s plays series fron you for us all to watch

  2. Ah, there are a lot of games that I still need to play on the Wii U before Switch comes out, but it looks like I won’t really get to them before then. It’s okay, because I’ll still have my Wii U hooked up, ready to enjoy it while not playing a Switch game!
