Rachel Mii Double JumpHappy Thursday!
I feel like I talk about the same things all the time on here… Pokemon, The Legend of Zelda, video game music, the works.
So, for something different, here’s another post about video game music! (Sorry. Not really.)
I recently discovered Spotify the other day. Yes, I know I’m a bit behind the times. However, a lot of the music I’ve been listening to lately (video game soundtracks, a cappella, instrumental/violin) has been on YouTube so I just took my cue from that.
The Sunday school class I teach will be singing a song during the service this weekend and instead of buying the song for them to sing along to, I thought I would give Spotify a try.
I found the song–great, but so not the point.
I thought, why not look up some video game music? My car has six CD slots. I would love to fill it up with music from The Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, Paper Mario, Ace Attorney, Professor Layton, and everything else in between.
I looked it up and while the direct Nintendo soundtracks aren’t on Spotify, there are so many covers of all these songs. And I’ve yet to meet a cover that I didn’t enjoy.
I haven’t really played around with it and created my own playlists yet, but I have saved a couple from other people. I have a Paper Mario one and an Ace Attorney one.
My absolute favorite, though, is Nintendo Master Playlist. I typed in “Nintendo” in the search bar and it was the first one to pop up. It’s a playlist by the user “workspot88.” Whoever that is, I need to write them a letter telling them how wonderful they are.
This playlist is 57 and a half hours long. It has a cover of every Nintendo song imaginable from all my favorites, all the Mario games, Metroid, Chrono Trigger, Ice Climbers, and so, so much more! It really is the best thing ever.
So, if you have Spotify, I highly recommend you go check it out. If you don’t have Spotify, get it. You won’t be disappointed.
If you have Spotify, what are some of your favorite Nintendo playlists to listen to, if you have any?

  1. This is a great idea – I had not idea that these playlists existed. Thanks for sharing.
