It’s time for another top list and it’s pretty simple this week.
While this was super hard to narrow down the seven regions into five and then try to put them in order, I came to this conclusion.
Alola is the latest region of the Pokemon world. I enjoyed it, I had a lot of fun, the islands were a cool aspect of it. Still, it’s not my favorite. It was different, which wasn’t a bad thing. But there were a lot of changes to the games and even though I liked those changes, things just weren’t the same. I miss the way everything else used to be. Though I loved being in that area, it’s not my number one region choice.
The place that started it all. Normally I would have this be in the number one spot. It has a lot of fond memories and familiar towns, but this is a region I never really played through. When Kanto came out, I was too young to play the games myself. I watch Kris play and I watched the anime, but I never played them myself until years later. I love Kanto because it’s nostalgic.
Here is where it all began for me. When the Johto region came out, I was old enough to play the games myself and actually understand them. I played the games and when HeartGold and SoulSilver came out, I devoured through those ones as well.
I know Sinnoh isn’t typically a fan favorite. I don’t understand why, but I’ve heard more people say they didn’t care for Sinnoh as much as the other regions. I think Barry was a big part of that, even though I quite enjoyed him as a character. But Pearl was the first game I ever completed. I also got the farthest on it with my Pokedex as well. It will always have a special place in my heart.
The Kalos region was the closest region I had to Sinnoh. I completed X in two days and I’ve almost completed my Pokedex in full. (One of these days I’ll do it… I swear!) I enjoyed all the brand new animations and features of the game. Kalos was a fun place to visit.
