Friday (Least) Favorites: Super Mario 64 Worlds

Double Jump Kris MiiHappy Friday everyone!

Super Mario 64 is one of those classic favorites among Nintendo fans. While it’s not one of my favorite games, I do have a good time playing it with Rachel. However, there are definitely some courses in the game that I would not miss.

Hazy Maze Cave

Does anyone like this world? I feel as if this is the least liked level in Super Mario 64 from what I’ve heard on the Internet. The graphics and music don’t tend to grab me as some of the other worlds do, and every section seems mish-mashed together rather than feeling like an entire world on its own like the other courses.

Dire, Dire Docks

Generally, I’m not a fan of water levels at all. I can appreciate them — like the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’s Water Temple, despite how much of a pain it can be — but having to deal with air meters and swim controls were never my favorite part of video games. At least the water levels have some of the best music in Super Mario 64.

Wet-Dry World

The mechanic of the water level being dependent on where you enter the painting is probably the only interesting thing I find about this level. Other than that, I just find it… blah. Even the area with the house-like structures fails to impress me. Other levels definitely have better secrets and challenges than Wet-Dry World.

Friday (Least) Favorites: Super Smash Bros. Items

Double Jump Kris MiiHappy Friday, everyone!

Last week, I shared a list of some of my favorite items from the Super Smash Bros. video game franchise. This week, I thought I would share a few items that are not my favorites. If these items below do not make an appearance for Smash Bros. on the Switch, I will not be heartbroken!

Lip’s Stick

This item was always annoying to me, especially on the receiving end. I mean, that’s the point, but I still hated getting hit with this item and having a damage-causing flower pop up on my character’s head. It definitely wasn’t the most powerful battering item, either.

Banana Peel

Just like when I see them on the Mario Kart tracks, seeing a banana peel join the fight makes me groan. I almost always chuck it off the stage, if I’m able to, as I’m more wont to tripping on the peel myself during the melee.

Mr. Saturn

While I’m guessing his appearance is a nod to Earthbound fans, I don’t understand Mr. Saturn’s existence in the Smash Bros. games. Why is he there? He only makes an odd sound if he’s thrown at someone. Otherwise, he just kind of wanders around.

Screw Attack

This is a hit or miss for me. Generally, the characters I use in the Smash games are characters who have decent jumps and up-slashes. The Screw Attack kind of nullifies the jumps of the characters, and I tend to forget if I’m wearing the badge or not, generally ruining whatever combo I may have been planning.

Friday (Least) Favorites: Miitopia Jobs

Double Jump Kris MiiHappy Friday, everyone!

Miitopia is an awesome game, one that I’ve recently returned to just for the fun of it. Playing with all the jobs in the game, there are a few that I’ve found were not my favorites… These are my least favorite jobs in Miitopia.

Flower

I suppose the game gets points for trying something new with this class, but the Flower job just didn’t impress me. It was a cross between the Cleric and Mage classes with nothing really special about it except for the silly costumes.

Tank

I thought the Tank didn’t look too bad — I was amused that the character was a literal tank, both in battle and in the over world walking animations. While I liked their high defense and strength, I hated how their attacks could hit allies and cause resentment among the group.

Scientist

Scientist honestly wasn’t too bad, as I found some of their special skills to be rather unique in animation and purpose, with their buffs and all. I wasn’t a fan of their clothing, Lab Gear, finding it to look a bit ridiculous in battle. I probably sound really superficial by saying that, but for a game that otherwise looks adorable with the Miis running around as various jobs, it threw me off.

Top Tuesday: Least Favorite Pokemon Types

Rachel Mii Double JumpHey, everyone!

A couple weeks ago I listed my Top 5 favorite Pokemon types.

This week, I decided to go the other way. Here are my top 5 least favorite Pokemon types.

top tuesday least favorite pokemon types

This list is kind of boring as I do enjoy every Pokemon regardless of their type. But when I put all the types in order by my favorite, these ones just happened to come in last.

I don’t really have a reason as to why these five are my least favorite, so I can’t explain them. Each are powerful in their own way.

It’s funny though, because when I look at these types, I realize that I’ve very rarely raised Pokemon of these types.

5. Steel

4. Ground

3. Normal

2. Bug

1. Poison
