Top Tuesday: Favorite SNES Classic Games

Rachel Mii | DoubleJump.comHappy Tuesday!
Kris and I have been playing around with our SNES Classic a lot lately. So many games bring back nostalgia, so here are some of my favorites.

5. Super Mario Kart
I’ll admit that I don’t remember playing too much of Super Mario Kart when I was a kid. I think I was too young. I do remember watching Kris play it with my Dad sometimes and our other older sister. Playing it now is fun, but… I’m not very good at it.
4. The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past
I’ll be honest with this one too. I don’t think we ever really played this game. My Uncle used to play it a lot because my grandparents had a SNES. Still, it’s Zelda. You can’t go wrong.
3. Yoshi’s Island
I love Yoshi. Any game that stars Yoshi is wonderful to me. I had completely forgotten about this game until I saw it on the classic and I can’t wait to play it again.
2. Donkey Kong Country
The last time I played this was a couple years ago on the Wii Ware. Kris and I thought it’d be fun to play again but we never finished it. One, I got my wisdom teeth out and we just forgot about it. Two, we couldn’t get past a certain level like children. So… yeah.
1. Super Mario RPG
This one brings back the most memories. Kris used to play this one a lot as it was her favorite. I’ve never played it myself but always looked forward to watching her; especially the mine cart part. I don’t know why, but that was my favorite part of the whole game.

What are some of your favorite games on the SNES CLassic? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. Happy Tuesday! My friend Emily just bought the snes classic at Target after always missing then when they released last year. I haven’t played yet but I’m looking forward to Yoshi’s Islands (you’re right, yoshi is amazingggg) , Donkey Kong, Metroid, Street fighter and the Mario games!

  2. I still have an old Nintendo system. I used to play it all the time. Super Mario’s World was my favorite. The funny thing is, my sons got into it too. Even now, my college son sometimes digs it out.

  3. Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario RPG, Super Mario World, Mega Man X, and Super Mariokart are in my top 5. Took me forever to beat Mario RPG. I remember the night I beat it. Mega Man X was pretty tough and I never beat it but I still had fun playing it.

  4. Hmm… mine are probably Super Mario World, Final Fantasy III, Yoshi’s Island, Mario Kart, and A Link to the Past.

  5. I’ve won a SNES in the late’s 1995 and lived the “swan song era” of the system. Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, Donkey Kong Country series, International Superstar Soccer (a big hit in Brazil), Yoshi’s Island, Biker Mice From Mars, Killer Instinct, Mega Man X, and Super Bomberman 3 and 4 are some of my favorites of that time.

    • That sounds great! I’m getting first-hand experience on most of these games. The games I have played I really just only remember the music and sound effects, lol.
