Happy Tuesday & October!
With the Fall officially here and Halloween around the corner, I though I’d talk about some spooky games I’ve played… well, the term “spooky” is used loosely.
Take this list with a grain of salt. I don’t play horror games for a reason and some of these games aren’t even in the horror genre. Though I felt they were spooky enough.
3. Hello Neighbor
I’m already cheating on the first game. I’ve never actually played this one myself. I’ve seen a lot of other people play it though and… the story can be pretty unsettling. The learning AI and the premise is pretty spooky and this is technically a stealth horror game.
2. James Noir’s Hollywood Crimes
I’ve played this game for the Nintendo DS a couple of times and have even given it a review. This is a simple puzzle game and there isn’t too much to the story. However, you’re up against a psychopath and even get put into jail and have to escape. While the consequences aren’t that great, the game makes it seem like the stakes are high. When I first played it a long time ago, it kind of creeped me out.
1. Luigi’s Mansion
You should have seen this one coming. This is one of my favorite games. When I first played Luigi’s Mansion on the Gamecube way back in the day, I had a hard time playing it because our gaming systems were hooked up in the basement. I also couldn’t play it when I was home alone or when it was dark out. The cartoon ghosts spooked me despite how much I enjoyed the game. I pushed through the fear though!
