Top Tuesday: Favorite Spooky Games

Rachel Mii | DoubleJump.comHappy Tuesday & October!
With the Fall officially here and Halloween around the corner, I though I’d talk about some spooky games I’ve played… well, the term “spooky” is used loosely.
Favorite Spooky Games to play | Top Tuesday | video games | gaming | horror games | suspenseful games |
Take this list with a grain of salt. I don’t play horror games for a reason and some of these games aren’t even in the horror genre. Though I felt they were spooky enough.

3. Hello Neighbor

I’m already cheating on the first game. I’ve never actually played this one myself. I’ve seen a lot of other people play it though and… the story can be pretty unsettling. The learning AI and the premise is pretty spooky and this is technically a stealth horror game.

2. James Noir’s Hollywood Crimes

I’ve played this game for the Nintendo DS a couple of times and have even given it a review. This is a simple puzzle game and there isn’t too much to the story. However, you’re up against a psychopath and even get put into jail and have to escape. While the consequences aren’t that great, the game makes it seem like the stakes are high. When I first played it a long time ago, it kind of creeped me out.

1. Luigi’s Mansion

You should have seen this one coming. This is one of my favorite games. When I first played Luigi’s Mansion on the Gamecube way back in the day, I had a hard time playing it because our gaming systems were hooked up in the basement. I also couldn’t play it when I was home alone or when it was dark out. The cartoon ghosts spooked me despite how much I enjoyed the game. I pushed through the fear though!

  1. I’ve never seen the appeal of Luigi’s Mansion, but I know I lot of people love it :). My personal list is actually a lot different, but I respect yours all the same!
    Here’s mine
    1.F.E.A.R. 2
    2. Resident Evil
    3. The Evil Within
This reminded me that I still need to play Hello Neighbor.
    Solid list!

    • You have legit spooky games on your list! Mine are cartoon-y “spooky,” lol. I use the term spooky loosely since that’s as spooky as I’ll get. 🙂 Needless to say, I’ve never played any of the games on your list.
